Chris Gibbons is Chair of the Association for Psychology Teachers in Northern Ireland.
For educational purposes you can freely access a selection of articles from

The first file reports on a recent study exploring stress and coping among university students. University league tables draw heavily on the National Student Survey (NSS) and course satisfaction ratings and they are increasingly important, not least because a University's positioning in the table is an important consideration for prospective students. The results of this paper suggest that rating a university on course satisfaction alone is, at best, an incomplete measure and that other factors should be considered when judging a course and a university.

The second file is the Psychology Teaching Review Special Issue. It includes the paper above along with papers from colleagues exploring other areas of research linked to learning and teaching among psychology students. The third file contains the instrument developed by Chris Gibbons to measure sources of stress in nursing students. Interested parties are welcome to use this in learning or research exercises.

Chris was a contributor on Material World, BBC Radio 4, August 2007 on teaching psychology to undergraduate students and you can listen to this episode at: http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio4/science/thematerialworld_20070830.shtml

He was lead researcher and a contributor on a series of five programmes on stress in teaching (first aired February 2007) for Teachers TV. These can also be downloaded e.g. http://www.teachersmedia.co.uk/series/how-stressed-is-your-school

Further information or clarification can be obtained on any of the areas listed here please contact Chris Gibbons at c.gibbons@qub.a.uk.
